For many, Fess Parker is Davy Crockett. He played the role of the frontiersman on a five-part series that aired in black and white on ABC from 1954–1955 in one-hour episodes on the "Disneyland" series. Because it was such a hit, in 1955 it was released in color as the theatrical film "Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier."
